Backup Systems

The specialties are single-track back-up systems either behind TBM or for conventionally driven tunnels. The Mühlhäuser system is "rail upon rail" what means the Rolling Stock is entering the rail of the portal car via a ramp. The mucking can be done automatically by using a chain-pulling system, remote-controlled by one man. In mechanically driven tunnels the back-up system is used in realization of the mucking stroke system giving the possibility of continuous mucking out of 10 and more strokes without stop of machine.
